The word "Nara" comes from the Sanskrit language meaning 'Thai woman'. Founded by a group of women in 2003 and with women, predominantly, at the helm of this venture the name couldn't be more fitting. Voted as one of Thailand’s best restaurants since 2006, Nara, has garnered a cult following as one of the finest Thai eateries in Asia and is a renowned International brand, with restaurants in Bangkok, Singapore and Hong-Kong among several other countries.

Early 2016, we felt that Mumbai lacked authentic Thai food in a stand-alone format, this resulted in importing the Bangkok institution to Mumbai in BKC in 2017. In 2019 we decided to open Nara Colaba, in the heart of the city at Colaba. The Nara brand philosophy is about creating spaces where family and friends come together over great food, reliving old memories while making new ones. A meal at Nara is an experience in itself with an opulent ambiance, a bar that serves Thai inspired concoctions that are perfect to go with authentic Thai comfort food in a modern yet traditional space.
